Care and Safety

Candles can be a serious fire hazard if not properly used. Please consider the following to ensure safe candle burning in your space.

  • When lighting for the first time, burn the candle for 3 to 4 hours or until wax melts across entire surface to the sides of vessel to prevent tunneling, and to create an even burn.
    • If the first 3-4 hours does not achieve a complete full melt pool, that's perfectly fine. The second burn will achieve a full melt pool.
  • Always light both wicks to ensure your candle burns evenly and properly.
  • Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface and never handle or move it while lit.
  • Do not burn candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
  • Trim wick to ¼ of an inch if needed before each burn to promote an even burn, steady flame, and limit sooting or mushrooming of wick.
    • Please keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and debris.
    • Extinguish candle if it smokes, flickers, or the flame becomes too high. These signs indicate the candle is not burning properly. Let the candle cool, trim the wick, then check for drafts before re-lighting.
      • To maximize scent throw, burn in desired safe space for 30-45 mins.
      • Stop burning candle when it's at ½ inch from the bottom.
      • Keep your candle out of the reach of children, pets, and flammable objects.
      • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
